“My job was to clean wounds and dry skin patches, test blood pressure and blood sugar, clean ears, treat tooth decay, trim fingernails and toenails, and provide comfort,” Year 12 Coomera Anglican College student Cambria Hunt says of her recent service trip to Cambodia
“In this Easter liturgy, the children take part in the key final events of Jesus’ life, from Palm Sunday to the Resurrection. They wave palms, taste the bread and wine (grape juice), run away from the soldiers, nail dowels into a cross, are buried (under sheets) and noisily celebrate the resurrection,” says The Rev’d Canon Dr Marian Free, while providing a helpful story and liturgical resource for parishes to download and tips for creating an Easter liturgy
“In 2008, my spiritual life was radically and indelibly changed by a 14-week visit to the Sisters of St Mary in Tanzania on behalf of Anglican Aid Abroad. There I witnessed the profound faith and love of Jesus shown in schools, health clinics, support for the vulnerable, care for people who were maimed and outcast, and through the teaching of sewing and agriculture to improve livelihoods,” says Marilyn Wright from St Bart’s, Mt Gravatt
