In the peak of the Queensland summer, when some parts of the state reached 38 degrees and stifling humidity levels, aged care staff went to work in face shields, gloves, gowns, N95 face masks and glasses. They had to take extra precautions, get regularly tested, and work through difficult situations, facing physical, emotional and psychological challenges in order to protect older Australians. It’s not over yet and aged care staff still face unique challenges every day.
