There are more than 11,000 children in Queensland in need of care. For these young people, even the smallest, simplest things can have a big impact. Things like learning to ride a bike, baking a cake and helping them with homework are all big things to them. You just have to be you to change the life of a child in care

Alisha and Andrew work in the Gympie Anglicare Children and Families team, assisting foster carers every step of the way through ‘You Be You’, Anglicare Southern Queensland’s foster care program. The Gympie Children and Families team works with around 75 foster carers through You Be You, and are on the lookout for more carers
As part of its ‘You Be You’ initiative, Anglicare Southern Queensland has created this brief animated video, recorded with children’s voices, to “acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which our services now stand, and pay our respect to Elders – past, present and emerging – and acknowledge the important role of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in caring for their own communities”
