What would you tell your teenage self if you could go back in time? Peter Dutton from St Bart’s, Toowoomba, Lydia Fairhall from St Francis College, The Rev’d Cameron Freese from The Parish of East Redland and The Rev’d Canon Stewart Perry from The Parish of Robina share their thoughts
“We are both over six feet tall and share the same surname, but we are very different. We are unrelated, support different rugby league teams, hold differing theological understandings and church experiences, and lead very different parishes. However, in early 2021 we began to explore what working together could look like,” say Resource Church leader The Rev’d Canon Stewart Perry from The Parish of Robina and The Rev’d Eron Perry from The Parish of Burleigh Heads
Nothing to hide
The Rev’d Stewart Perry from Resource Church The Parish of Robina has written and recorded a great song for parishes to use in their online services and for families to use at home, with accompanying actions performed by two young parishioners, Lara and Zoe
Reflecting on his childhood, The Rev’d Stewart Perry asks ‘Is there future in tradition?’: “Each of us longs for traditional worship to be vitally embedded in our church, but sometimes wonder how a generation who have grown up without prayer and hymn books can be attracted and engaged to the type of worship we all love and value.”
